  • 12 ounces rigatoni pasta
  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook the rigatoni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sausage and cook until browned.
  3. Add garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  4. Stir in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
  5. Add Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir until combined.
  6. Add the cooked rigatoni and basil to the skillet. Toss to coat.
  7. Serve warm, garnished with extra Parmesan and basil if desired.
