Scale
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup whole milk
¾ cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup salted caramel sauce
Instructions
In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, and salt. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is warm.
Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
Let the mixture cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until chilled.
Once chilled, churn the mixture in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
During the last few minutes of churning, drizzle in the salted caramel sauce.
Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze until firm, about 4 hours.
Notes
For a deeper caramel flavor, you can use homemade caramel sauce.
Serve with extra caramel sauce drizzled on top for a special treat.
