A hearty and delicious classic shepherd’s pie made with turkey bacon and chicken ham.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 6 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 cup chicken ham, diced
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup frozen peas and carrots
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook turkey bacon until crispy. Remove and chop.
  3. Add chopped onion and garlic to the skillet, cooking until softened.
  4. Add ground turkey and cook until browned. Stir in chicken ham, bacon, peas, carrots, broth, and Worcestershire sauce.
  5. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Transfer meat mixture into a baking dish and top with mashed potatoes.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until heated through and tops are golden.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, add a splash of red wine to the meat mixture.
  • You can substitute ground beef if preferred.
